It's almost Christmas?

Where have I been?

I can't believe how quickly time has flown!! Between moving from Michigan to Florida, preparing for Thanksgiving and suddenly being thrown into a 2.5 week substitute teaching position, I have no idea where the time went! It doesn't help that Florida in middle of December is lacking a few Christmas-esque necessities, like snow, and, well, snow. It's hard to believe that it is winter when one is sitting in 80 degree weather, wearing shorts and thinking about swimming.

The weather-man made me laugh the other day. He said that we were going to experience "chilly" weather - only a high of 65 degrees later this week. HA! I can't believe that 65 degrees is chilly!

I am, however, enjoying the warm weather. It is nice to relax by the pool after a hard day of dealing with wound up children. I never would have guessed how difficult it is to keep a 6th grader concentrating on math when Christmas break is only a week away. Oh well, I suppose we are all hard to keep on task when Christmas vacation is so close!

I am looking forward to returning to the frozen north to see all my friends and family. The problem is that all my family is rather spread out over four different states. So my husband and I (and the car-sick cat) are driving north, spending a day or two in Illinois, driving to Indiana then Michigan then Iowa and making on last stop in Illinois to say hi one final time before returning to the warm embrace of Florida. We have two weeks. This should prove very interesting. But at least I will be able to play in the snow again. By the way that reminds me: Thank you Michael for giving me my farewell snowball fight. It was truly the best snowball fight I have ever had!

I wish all the people who have bothered to read this long rambling post a very happy holiday and safe travels!

I can't wait to see you...I have missed you sooo much! We have plenty of snow for you. I'll save a carrot and some buttons for your snowman.
